Lembra-te dos meus pecados

The project

The soliloquy "To be or not to be" is not only one of the most iconic passages in Shakespeare and the entire history of Western theatre but also a challenge that every actor aspires to perform at least once in their career. In this soliloquy, Hamlet appears as a melancholic being, trapped between doubt and action, incapable of moving forward with his desires. The Prince of Denmark acts too late and makes wrong decisions (when he makes them at all). But isn’t that what we all do?

In Lembra-te dos meus pecados, this iconic text becomes the centerpiece of an unexpected competition: a sort of talent show where performers strive to deliver their best version of the soliloquy. In this peculiar dialogue, the play explores themes such as regret, success, failure, and the fear of death. All of this unfolds in a setting reminiscent of a zombie movie, where the absurd and the sublime blend together.

With a staging that combines humor and melancholy, the show offers a tender yet critical perspective on life and death. Lembra-te dos meus pecados is a celebration of humanity and a space to rethink our existence, finding beauty even in despair. A gore spectacle that invites us to reimagine our relationship with time, love, and memory.

As in Hamlet, death will break in, disfiguring everything. But before that happens, we want to sit down, talk, and perhaps, understand each other.
